. . . we are slowly emerging!

Sunday Mar 21 2021 – Free Online Spring Equinox Ecstatic Dance
Dear Dancing Friends,
As we move into Spring and the beginning of the Astrological year – with the Sun (and Venus) moving into Aries – we are moving into the “space in between” . . . and a time of transition.
Allowing whatever wants to go . . . to go . . . and allowing whatever wants to come . . . to come. No striving towards or pushing away . . . but simply being in the moment we find ourselves in. And it can be as simple as “breathing.” Breathing in . . . the new unknown places . . . breathing out . . . the places that are falling away and no longer serve us.
And right after the “out breath,” just before the “in breath” comes in . . . there is a brief, delicate moment in time. This is the “space in between.” And it’s not always an easy place to be. There can be a mixture of fear and excitement . . . and in this place, we “hold space” for whatever wants to arise.
Someone asked me this week what it means to “hold space.” For me, it’s as simple as being present. Truly present. And in this space, I remember (or sometimes have to remind myself!) that “there’s nothing wrong and nothing to fix.” And in this space of “loving presence” . . . I am my own loving Mother – and Father – to my fear, my sadness, my anger, my joy, my excitement . . . and all the myriad of emotions that pass through me each day. And they are only asking to be witnessed; and not fixed or shamed. And the more I hold this for myself, the better I’m getting at holding this place for others.
So this is the Invitation or Sankalpa (which is a Vow or Intention) for this Special Spring Equinox Dance this Sunday. To “dance” with these “places in between” . . . being with whatever arises . . . with love. And when we do this, we create our own “homeopathic” brew of what we need.
Disclaimer: You may not like these “in between” places. Liking them is entirely optional! And reading the poem below might help.
Peace & Love, Diane️

FOR A NEW BEGINNING – John O’Donohue
In out-of-the-way places of the heart,
Where your thoughts never think to wander,
This beginning has been quietly forming,
Waiting until you were ready to emerge.
For a long time it has watched your desire,
Feeling the emptiness growing inside you,
Noticing how you willed yourself on,
Still unable to leave what you had outgrown.
It watched you play with the seduction of safety
And the gray promises that sameness whispered,
Heard the waves of turmoil rise and relent,
Wondered would you always live like this.
Then the delight, when your courage kindled,
And out you stepped onto new ground,
Your eyes young again with energy and dream,
A path of plenitude opening before you.
Though your destination is not yet clear
You can trust the promise of this opening;
Unfurl yourself into the grace of beginning
That is at one with your life’s desire.
Awaken your spirit to adventure;
Hold nothing back, learn to find ease in risk;
Soon you will home in a new rhythm,
For your soul senses the world that awaits you.
“There are many paths to God. I have chosen that of music and dancing!” – Rumi
